1. Acceptance of Terms

By engaging with Varanasi Hallmark Center (A BIS Recognized Assaying & Hallmarking Centre, Recognition No: R-2219027), whether for gold/silver testing, laser hallmarking, or related services, the customer ("You") agrees to these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Service Accuracy & BIS Guidelines

We utilize advanced Computerized XRF technology and Fire Assay Touch methods for testing. While we strive for 100% accuracy, all testing and hallmarking are conducted strictly in accordance with the guidelines and rules mandated by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

• Our lab results represent the purity of the specific spot/sample tested.
• The assignment of the 6-digit HUID code is subject to the central BIS server's availability and approval.

3. Customer Responsibilities

When submitting jewellery or bullion for testing or hallmarking, the customer must ensure:

• They are the rightful owner or authorized representative of the items.
• Proper declaration of stones, enamel, or other non-metal elements attached to the gold/silver. Varanasi Hallmark Center is not liable for damage to delicate stones during the standard testing process, though maximum care is taken.
• Sufficient identification (ID Proof) and GST details (for B2B/Jewellers) are provided as per Govt. regulations.

4. Pricing and Payments

Our hallmarking charges are fixed as per standard government (BIS) rates (e.g., standard flat fee per item + GST). Testing and other service charges will be communicated prior to the service. All payments must be cleared before the delivery of the tested/hallmarked items and certificates.

5. Liability and Damages

Varanasi Hallmark Center takes extreme care and maintains high security within the lab premises. However:

• We shall not be held liable for any pre-existing invisible cracks, internal defects, or manufacturing flaws in the jewellery that may surface during the laser marking or testing process.
• In the rare event of damage caused strictly due to negligence on our part, liability will be limited to the repair cost of the item, evaluated at current market rates, excluding any making charges or sentimental value.

6. Refusal of Service

We reserve the right to refuse service if the metal submitted is found to be below the minimum verifiable standards, if it contains unauthorized or hazardous alloys, or if the source of the material is deemed suspicious or unverified under prevailing laws.

7. Modifications to Terms

Varanasi Hallmark Center reserves the right to modify or update these terms at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website or displaying at our center.
